Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY continues in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
In addition to being one of the best-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also composed the music that defined generations — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be celebrated for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Alexa “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In the spring of 1974, his parents brought seniors night Las Vegas Neil Diamond tribute show him from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from lead singer of a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
